The School of Studies in Physics was founded in 1959. The first school at Vikram University is the School of Studies in Physics. The school is premier center of Physics in Madhya Pradesh. It has active collaborations with many leading Indian and foreign laboratories. During its existence, it has established itself as a well known PG teaching/research center of this region.
Our school offers two post graduate programmes: M.Sc. Physics, M.Sc. Electronics , one PG diploma in Astrophysics and Certificate Courses in Optoelectronic Devices & Applications, Research Methodology and in Astrophysics.
Department also offers Ph.D. programs in Quantum Electronics, Solid State Plasma Physics, X-Ray Spectroscopy, Astrophysical Plasma, Space Plasma, Plasma Physics and Nonlinear Optics. For these programs the school has modern laboratories and library facilities. Its library is enriched with more than 6000 books and journals of various disciplines of Physics. The school has produced a couple of D.Sc., more than 150 Ph.D.'s and has published more than 1000 research papers in journals of repute.
